The People
About the Owner:
 Eileen Smith established Madison Furniture Barn in 1997 as a small, 900 sq. ft. pine wood store in downtown Madison, Ct. In 1999, Eileen moved to Westbrook for an opportunity to expand. Since then, MFB has expanded three times to its current size of 10,000 sq. ft!
Eileen believes that furniture shopping should be an interesting and fun experience. So humor and laughter are always mixed with knowledge and helpfulness. Her business philosophy is simple: treat customers with respect and give them good, quality furniture at a fair price, and that customer will confidently and happily refer Madison Furniture Barn to his or her friends and family. This word of mouth advertising has been very successful all these years. MFB is a thriving, growing (doubled the floor space in March, 2010!) business based on this simple formula. About the Interior Decorator:
Eileen’s college roommate at the University of Connecticut, Patty MacNeil, joined MFB in 2000. Patty was destined to become an interior decorator. Even back in college, Patty would constantly paint the dorm room walls and color code Eileen and her crates of sweaters! As Madison Furniture Barn’s interior decorator, Patty travels to your home to provide complete consultation. This includes customized design for as many rooms in your home as you request. She measures, discusses style, color and budget. She then completes a comprehensive and custom room layout including fabrics, color and furniture placement. There is a reasonable fee of $150 for Patty’s services. However, spend $2,500 at MFB and get this credited toward your purchase.

About the Staff
Eileen knows that she couldn’t have a nicer, more helpful bunch of woman to represent Madison Furniture Barn. Jeanne, Cheryl and Patty have been on staff for almost a decade. Marie and Kathy F. for over four years and Kathy C. is brand new (but better be here for years to come!). These sales associates enjoy their job, own the furniture themselves and love to decorate. They are not on commission, so they will not ‘shadow you’ in the store, but once you ask for help…they are happy to provide it. The sales associates have the knowledge, decorating expertise and patience to assist you in choosing unique furnishings for every room in your home. You’ll like talking to and learning from them.
The warehouse/ delivery manager, Rick, is fantastic. He is professional, courteous and, most importantly, punctual! He, along with ‘Big Barry’ and Dan will deliver and set up your furniture in your home. The Madison Furniture Barn joke is that we get more compliments on Rick and the delivery staff than we do on our furniture!
